Terms of Service

Last updated: May 16, 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using PC Bottleneck Calculator. By accessing our website or using our calculator tool, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the PC Bottleneck Calculator website ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our Service.

These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, regardless of whether they have created an account or are using the Service as a guest.

2. Description of Service

PC Bottleneck Calculator provides a free, browser-based tool that estimates hardware bottleneck percentages based on benchmark data. Our Service includes:

  • CPU and GPU bottleneck percentage estimation across multiple resolutions and use cases
  • Hardware compatibility rankings and comparison tables
  • Game-specific FPS estimates based on benchmark-normalized scoring
  • Programmatically generated CPU/GPU detail and comparison pages
  • A public REST API endpoint for querying bottleneck data

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind.

3. Accuracy of Information

While we strive for accuracy, the hardware benchmarks and bottleneck percentages generated by this tool are estimates only. Real-world performance varies significantly based on:

Operating system and driver versions
Background processes and software overhead
Specific in-game settings and graphics options
Ambient temperature and thermal paste quality
Power supply stability and cable quality
Storage speed (NVMe vs SATA SSD vs HDD)
Memory timings beyond just capacity and speed
Motherboard VRM quality for sustained workloads

⚠️ We are not responsible for hardware purchasing decisions made solely on the basis of the estimates provided by this tool. Always cross-reference with professional reviews and benchmarks before buying.

4. Affiliate Disclosure

PC Bottleneck Calculator participates in the Amazon Associates program and other affiliate advertising programs. This means that when you click certain "Check Price on Amazon" or similar links on our site and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate links are used only to recommend products that we believe are relevant to your hardware search. Our bottleneck calculation results, rankings, and recommendations are not influenced by affiliate relationships. We do not receive compensation from hardware manufacturers for favorable rankings.

All affiliate links are marked with standard external link indicators. You are under no obligation to use our affiliate links.

5. API Usage

We provide a public REST API at /api/bottleneck for querying hardware pairing data. By using this API, you agree to the following usage limits:

  • Maximum 30 requests per minute per IP address
  • Do not use the API to build a competing bottleneck calculator product without attribution
  • Do not scrape or mass-download all hardware data in a way that burdens our infrastructure
  • Commercial use in third-party applications requires written permission

We reserve the right to throttle or block API access from clients that violate these terms.

6. Intellectual Property

The underlying benchmark data is sourced from publicly available datasets. Where third-party data is used, we comply with the respective terms of those sources. You may not reproduce, distribute, or sell our content or calculation results without explicit written permission.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or infrastructure
  • Use automated bots to scrape hardware data at scale
  • Misrepresent our tool's results in published material
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
  • The results provided will be accurate for your specific hardware configuration
  • Any specific hardware pairing recommendation will result in the expected performance
  • The benchmark data reflects the absolute latest hardware releases

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PC Bottleneck Calculator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to lost profits, hardware malfunctions from configuration changes, or data loss — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
